Kitchen Renovations

We’ve completed more than a few kitchen renovations over the years in the San Francisco Bay Area! We are happy to work on smaller kitchen renovations, or what we call refreshers – painting existing cabinets or simply replacing counters and/or backsplashes. And we are equally comfortable taking on large scale renovations like moving the kitchen to the other end of the house, taking the room down to the studs, designing and installing custom cabinets, etc. Whatever you have in mind, we’re here to help!

Kitchen renovation in an Edwardian Victorian
Moved the kitchen to the other end of the home to create a more contemporary floor plan in this Edwardian Victorian single family home. Designed a new layout for the space, creating an efficient work triangle that was open to the living spaces. Additionally, we opened up the wall between the kitchen and living room and widened the opening between the kitchen and dining room, creating a more open floor plan, while being true to the home’s historical roots. Acted as Designer for the project as well. (NoPa, San Francisco)
Moved kitchen in renovation
Moved the kitchen to the other end of the home to take advantage of the approximately 25’ x 30’ great room in this home that was a former Bakery. Designed a new layout for the space, creating an efficient work triangle that took full advantage of the huge open space of this great room. Because of the tall ceilings (and building constraints) we installed a downdraft vent, upgrading to one that was efficient and effective.  Acted as Designer for the project as well. (Noe Valley, San Francisco)
Open floor plan kitchen renovation
Created a more open floor plan for this vintage Victorian flat. Eliminated a utility and foyer closet to create a floor plan that was open to the living space. In the process, we created a dining space (the home did not have one before) by connecting the dining table to the kitchen peninsula. We installed an in-ceiling vent hood to not interrupt any sight lines throughout the space. Lastly, we made sure to match the original molding throughout the space so we didn’t take away any of the beautiful charm in this vintage home. Acted as Designer for the project as well. (Noe Valley, San Francisco)
Kitchen and great room renovation
This choppy home struggled with the kitchen on the opposite end of the home from the living room. We removed the wall separating the living room from the front bedroom and moved the kitchen to the front of the home creating a great room. The home lacked a dining room, so we created a dining space by connecting a custom built table to the kitchen island. We utilized a previously unused space under the stairs for a pantry which allowed for a more minimal aesthetic in the kitchen. Acted as Designer for the project as well. (Castro, San Francisco)
U-shaped kitchen renovation
This small U-shaped kitchen was vastly improved by relocating the sink and refrigerator. After, the kitchen felt flooded in light from the large window above the sink and the back door was changed out from solid wood to full glass. Decorative and task lighting was added, as well as brand new cabinetry. Acted as Designer for the project as well.  (Noe Valley, San Francisco)
Kitchen refresh
This kitchen was a great example of working with what you have! The layout and condition of the cabinets were both great, they just needed a refresh. So we painted, added new counters and backsplash, replaced the appliances and added new hardware and light fixtures. It felt like a brand new space. Acted as Designer for the project as well. (Noe Valley, San Francisco)
Studio apartment kitchen renovation
We had to work our magic in this 300 square foot studio unit – which included adding a W/D in the alcove where the fridge used to be. We relocated appliances, frosted the window for street level privacy, and added some glass shelving to gain just a little bit of cool storage. Acted as Designer for the project as well. (Noe Valley, San Francisco)
Small updates to kitchen
We worked within the existing floor plan in this space but small updates made a big difference – we added a dishwasher, installed hardwoods to match the existing floors throughout the rest of the home to help the space feel more open, and installed a glass divided light back door to help more light filter into the room. Acted as Designer for the project as well. (Noe Valley, San Francisco)
Kitchen cabinet refresh
A little refresh goes a long way! These cabinets were in great shape, so they got a fresh coat of paint. Along the way we replaced the counters and backsplash as well. The tile was hard standing on for long periods of time for this family who enjoys cooking, so we matched the hardwoods throughout the rest of the home. The wish list for the homeowners was a built in coffee maker they had in their previous home and we were able to make it happen (and we added a built in microwave too!) Acted as Designer for the project as well. (Rockridge, Oakland)
Remodeled kitchen on a budget
After their tenants moved out and the landlords saw the condition their property was left in, they asked us to come in and remodel the kitchen on a tight budget. We were able to turn the project around in a couple weeks, well within their budget and it was rented out days later.  (Noe Valley, San Francisco)
