Color Consultations

Painting the exterior of a home can cause a lot of stress for homeowners, real estate agents or developers. We are happy to offer color consultations to clients! We charge $400 to arrive at your property with paint decks in hand ready to go over your project with you. We can talk about your likes, ideas, etc. and help you select a few color combinations we think will work well with your home. Once back at our office we create a simple digital mock up of the colors we discussed so you can get an idea of what it will look like in person. Once the color has been selected we give color, code, sheen and location information to your painter. If there is additional back and forth or further mock ups requested after, we charge hourly.

Color consultation NoPa San Francisco
The developer for this property was interested in keeping with the trend of white homes with little contrast, but we gently encouraged adding black to the window sashes, and gold highlights to detail some of the beautiful original molding. (NoPa, San Francisco)
Color consultation Noe Valley
This property had 3 separate buildings on it, and had a lot of deferred maintenance. Before the real estate agent listed each unit for sale, he wanted to make sure the exterior was freshly painted. The owner was interested in a black and white color scheme, so we obliged with soft gray for a little extra contrast. (Noe Valley, San Francisco)
Color consultation Oakland
This homeowner was not a fan of the yellow and turquoise they inherited when they purchased the home. We discussed a neutral but not standard Mediterranean color scheme. They were interested in a pop of color for the door and loved orange, so we went for it! And we love how it turned out. (Rockridge, Oakland)
Color Consultation - Nob Hill
We were happy to provide 3 color combination selections for a family to select from when deciding to put the building they owned on the market and manage the exterior paint job. (Nob Hill, San Francisco)
Color consultation - beige to dark gray
We were asked by a real estate agent to come in before the sale of this home to help the homeowner select a color for their home. We were happy to work with the homeowner to find the perfect deep, earthy shade for their home to hit the market fresh and sparkling. (Glen Park, San Francisco)
Prior to listing units for sale, a real estate agent reached out to us for help with a white color scheme. We guided them through a color combination with a bit more contrast to highlight the size and architecture of the vintage building. (Inner Richmond, San Francisco)
Albion before and after color consultation
Prior to listing this TIC for sale, we selected a new color scheme for the developer who was not afraid to go with a saturated color scheme! (Mission, San Francisco)
Color consultation with landscaping
Not a fan of the green house and brown trim, this home got a new paint job in a very soft white with a hint of gray, with deep navy trim. The new landscaping helped freshen things up as well! (Maxwell Park, Oakland)
Color consultation for house in Excelsior, San Francisco
Prior to this home going on the market we were asked to give it a refresh. The homeowners were intrigued by the idea of a dark home, and we really went for it! It did not disappoint. (Excelsior, San Francisco)
Color consultation for house with Spanish tile roof in Kensington
Prior to this home going on the market for the first time in 59 years we were asked to help give it a bit of a facelift. With a beautiful facade, we worked with the homeowner to select an earthy color that tied into the Spanish tile roof. (Kensington)
Deep red house paint
This couple had repainted their house the same colors three times and were interested in switching things up. They were very interested in tying in their beautiful landscaping to the color scheme we chose. While there were beautiful plants everywhere, several maples stood out, and it seemed perfectly fitting to go with a deep shade of red for an accent. (Rockridge, Oakland)
Oakland color consultation
This homeowner had cold feet about pulling the trigger and repainting. She loved blue, the ocean and jewel tones. We sorted through images of inspiration and chose this rich blue. We also assisted in selecting a new wood door, side lights and designed a stained glass address plaque to hang from her porch that tied into the original stained glass window in her foyer. (Alameda)
Albany beige color house
This homeowner had decision paralysis with regards to selecting the perfect light greige. We helped guide her to a shade she fell in love with. We topped it off with a warm, pale yellow door that was a great compliment. (Albany)
Dark home color
This homeowner really wanted to go dark, but was apprehensive. We helped find just the right compromise and once it was done she was so happy she went for it because she loved it. We were thrilled too. (San Rafael)
Warm gray paint for house
This property owner was interested in either gray or blue for an exterior refresh of her rental property. We worked with her to find a beautiful warm gray with deep blue accents. (Upper Telegraph, Oakland)
